Decoration of a House in Apsley Guise

D. A. Decorators were proud to have been involved in the refurbishment of this grand, period property located in the picturesque village of Aspley Guise. The family had recently relocated from London, and were in the process of creating their dream family home.

Here, we could sink our teeth into the project, showcasing our talent for providing an excellent finish. For such a large scheme of work, planning was paramount to allow the home owners to still be able to live in the house, and we carefully planned out the weeks to ensure the minimum disruption to family life.

They wanted to refit the house to retain the period, whilst incorporating modern twists. In many of the rooms we started from scratch, working on stripped back walls or making good those in not so perfect condition. For the clients, the finish was of the upmost importance, and we used premium paints including the Dulux Heritage range, Farrow and Ball, and the Little Green Paint Company, whilst also working with wallpaper from The Graduate Collection.

There were many interesting undertakings during this job, such as restoring an old Victorian style high level wall hung toilet, blending a concealed door which led to the bespoke handmade walk in wardrobe and restoring the original floorboards. We were also able to renovate the sash windows for our clients.
